I caught wind of this the other day. As soon as Sye told me I went online and dug up a copy and I will suggest when you get a chance, cop this book. I also noticed they gave love to Serve FBA as well. Come to find out there’s a limited number plus it is an Italian publication which means, limited distribution. I went to whole train press to get mine.

Saturday was such a perfect day to go and paint. Met up with Jabs and wanted to draw first blood itching to paint some more. Had to bring some help with me to keep the young bloods in check. Funny thing was we were there painting and who decides to show face….Big Sye TC5. He is like a graff hound dog I tell you. How he smelled the paint fumes and came through. Really enjoyed that day, looking forward to doing more this summer.

DIY Monster Jam Trucker Jacket: Big Foot

About a month back I took my 5yr old to go see Monster Jam at the Izod center. He was so excited at the thought of going and seeing his favorite monster trucks. When we got in I quickly learned that the best time to see these bad boys in action is during their summer tours. That’s when they race in the large dirt course instead of a small indoor course. never the less I can’t complain because he was really happy being there. Just watching the trucks I was able to see all the tuning that goes into those bad boys. They’ve come a long way from the days of Monster trucks when I was younger.

They have toy replicas, roll cages, the driver is in the center and most importantly the bodies aren’t made of the same materials as normal trucks. So when it came time to work on his jacket I wanted to go to the first truck I remember and that was Big Foot. Then added a hot wheels patch and an NHRA patch as well as a Michelin Man patch.

Bluster hit me up asking if I would be a part of the And Suns art show. I was definitely interested especially when he told me what we would be working on. Each artist was given a skull to create for the Tsunami Relief anniversary benefit. My first idea quickly fell through once I got a hold of the actual skull. I wanted to create something extremely simple and a rainbow came to mind. Unfortunately there was no way I’d be able to cut the skull evenly and color thoroughly. All art will be showcased April 13, 2012 in Tokyo, Japan.

I can’t deny doing kids jackets are always fun. I’m in the process of finishing up another for my son who is a Monster Jam fiend, Sometimes creating them is even more fun just because you need to truly figure out the a layout and pull from different elements of art to create one original. For this since there was no MG Top Rocker I added a hand carved stamp.
